Lipoplasty preparation is a critical phase of lipoplasty, offering patients an opportunity to clear their schedule and double-check overall health in anticipation of the fat-extraction procedure.
With lipoplasty, also known as liposuction, it helps to know what to expect. Liposuction has three major steps: preparation, surgery and recovery.
During lipoplasty preparation, you will have a thorough consultation with either Dr. Lawrence Colen or Dr. Theodore Uroskie, both of whom are experienced plastic surgeons. When it comes to consultations at Norfolk Plastic Surgery in Virginia, we always make sure to discuss and address patients’ specific goals and seek to provide the best experience possible with pleasing results.
You will also be asked to follow some precautionary steps. You may be told to get a lab test or medical evaluation, take or adjust certain medications, stop smoking, and avoid taking aspirin. Depending on the type and amount of liposuction you receive, you’ll need to schedule someone to pick you up and stay with you for one night after your procedure is done.
